Questions & answers

FilmsMatch is a free web app that helps two people pick a movie together. You both swipe the same films — when you both tap ❤️, it's a match. No account, nothing to install: it opens straight in your browser, on phone or computer.

How do we pick a movie together?

One person taps “Create session” and shares the link, the QR code or the 5-letter code. The other joins, and you both swipe the same films in the same order, each on your own phone. Your choices stay private: when you both tap ❤️ on the same film, it's a match.

Can I use it on my own?

Yes. “Swipe solo” lets you browse films alone and keep the ones you like in “My list”, saved on your phone.

Is it free? Do I need an account?

Completely free, no account and no sign-up. It opens in any browser, on phone or computer, and you can add it to your home screen like an app. Film information comes from TMDB.

How do I see more about a film?

Tap the poster or “+ More info” to open the film's page: year, runtime, genres, rating, summary and trailer. You can reopen it any time from “My list”.

Where can I watch the film?

The “Where to watch?” button lists the streaming, rental and purchase options available in your country, and cinema showtimes for films still in theaters. The country comes from your phone's language and region settings, not your location.

I swiped by mistake — can I go back?

Yes, the ↩ arrow undoes your last choice. Once a film is a match, it can no longer be undone.

Can we filter the films?

Yes: genres to include or exclude, runtime, rating, release years (this year, last 3 years, decades), original language and a family mode. In a duo, the person who created the session sets the filters for both.

What happens to our matches?

You see the match together on the spot, with the trailer and where to watch it. Tap “+ My list” to keep it on your phone and share it as a story or post. Otherwise nothing is kept: FilmsMatch is made to choose quickly, then close.
